Elderly Physiotherapy – Safe, Supportive Care at Home

What is Elderly Rehabilitation?
Elderly rehabilitation is a special type of physiotherapy that focuses on helping people with disabilities keep and improve their mobility, physical performance and independence. Our comprehensive approach focuses on the effects of age on strength as well as balance, coordination and endurance with evidence-based therapies that are tailored to the individual’s requirements. We know that each person is different, which is why our expert professional physiotherapists develop customized rehabilitation plans which respect your strengths while focusing on achieving your targets.
The home-based services we offer eliminate the burden of traveling so you can concentrate completely on recovering in your familiar surroundings. We collaborate closely with caregivers and family members to ensure that you receive the same level of care, and offer education about safe techniques for movement. When you’re recovering from disease, managing chronic conditions or just want to be healthy and active, our senior rehabilitation services will allow you to keep the best quality of living.

FAQs
Do I have to be too old to undergo physiotherapy?
Absolutely absolutely not! There is no age limit to the practice of physiotherapy. Our rehabilitation services for seniors are designed specifically for seniors We regularly provide treatment to patients who are in age groups of 80 and 90 with success. Age is never a barrier to improving your mobility and quality of life.
Is physiotherapy paid for by the NHS or my insurance?
We’re a private provider and not covered by insurance, most health insurance policies for private individuals will cover physiotherapy services. We suggest contacting your insurance provider. Certain clients also benefit from Continuing Healthcare funding. We will provide you with receipts of insurance claims. We can also discuss funding options in your appointment.
What is the length of time I will require physiotherapy?
This varies greatly based on your specific needs and objectives. Some patients see improvement in only a few weeks, while others gain from continuous support for several months. When you first meet with us we’ll go over realistic timescales and regularly review progress to make adjustments according to your needs.
What happens if I cannot complete the exercises you suggest?
A We create all of our exercises specifically to suit your capabilities and limitations. If something is too difficult, we’ll alter the exercise immediately. Our philosophy is “start at the point you’re currently” and gradually increase your level of difficulty. We don’t push past what is safe and comfortable for you.
Do you collaborate with my GP or other health professionals?
A We believe in collaboration for care. If you are able to give us permission we will be able to inform your GP or consultant as well as other healthcare professionals about your health status. We can also send reports for insurance purposes, or recommendations to other specialists when required. Care that is coordinated always results in more positive results.
